West Lancashire College
In a collaboration with college lecturers Gary Owens and Louise Curran the project undertook a Heritage Street Photography partnership with West Lancashire College's Btec and A Level Art department. A total of 30 students actively participated in a one-day workshop, which included a creative wellbeing walk guiding them through intriguing locations in Skelmersdale. This immersive experience aimed to cultivate a newfound appreciation for Skelmersdale and its distinctive new town architecture.
The workshop featured a comprehensive presentation showcasing street photography compositional styles and storytelling techniques. This dynamic approach not only stimulated the students but also enriched their creative output. Notably, our collaborative initiative coincided with the West Lancashire Art Department's curriculum project on "Time," resulting in a seamless integration of the Heritage Project into the students' final portfolios
After the workshop, inspired by the Heritage Project the Art Department organised a Street Fashion shoot in the West Lancashire College Reception, photographing over 100 students, teachers, staff, security guards and visitors.

"The students all had a fabulous morning, thank you again for coming to work with us, I can’t remember any activity run by visiting artists that was so enjoyable or had such a positive impact on our students."
